For the International Yoga Day on the 21st of June, we are offering a FREE yoga class of 108 Sun Salutations

Completing even a single set of Sun Salutations floods the nervous system with solar energy, balancing emotions and enhancing cerebral activity. But why do we practice 108? In the Yogic tradition, 108 holds significant sacred value.

This practice is connected to the Hindu belief in the sacredness of the number 108. There are 108 Upanishads (spiritual texts), 108 names for Hindu deities, 108 sacred points on the body (marma points), and 108 sacred sites in India (pithas). Additionally, the distance between the sun and the earth is approximately 108 times the sun’s diameter.

Performing 108 Sun Salutations is a meditative practice that unites the body, mind, and universe, particularly during times of natural change. This ritual allows yogis to start afresh, feeling renewed and inspired.

Furthermore, you can burn up to 1500 calories! Performing 108 Sun Salutations can be an aerobic workout if you synchronize your breath with the postures and maintain a brisk pace.

Please note that this class will take approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours.

Bring your mat, water, a towel and good vibes!
